The T-16 card is a travel card for minors (children and youths) between ages 4 and 16, which expires on 31 December of the same year that they turn 16 years of age. This card affords the holder an unlimited number of journeys free of charge in the integrated fare system of the public transport network, within the same fare zone in which the child or youth lives. The T-16 card is a personalised travel card bearing the name and National ID number/ Foreigner ID number /Passport number / Family Book of Marriages, Births and Deaths. Like other cards, this card must be inserted into the card validation slot upon each journey and can only be used by the registered cardholding minor.

This card is available for children and youths between ages 4 and 16 residing in any of the municipalities that form part of the integrated fare system, and may be used until 31 December of the year in which the youth turns 16 years of age. After that, the card is automatically renewed free of charge until 31 December of the year in which the youth turns 16.

The T-16 card has a processing fee of €35 in case of duplicates for loss, theft or reissue due to change of fare zone.

T-Jove

A non-transferable single-person ticket for users under age 25, for an unlimited number of integrated journeys, for 90 consecutive days. This ticket provides access to all the means of transport within the integrated system and is limited by the number of zones purchased and the place where the ticket is first used (maximum charge 6 zones). Must be accompanied by a valid official identification card of the holder.

The use of the T-jove transport card is upheld throughout the validity of the card, even if the user has turned 25 during such period, as long as documentation is provided as proof that the user was under age 25 when the card was purchased and at the time of its first use.

Transport tickets for single-parent families and large families

To acquire discounted FM/FN transport tickets you need to present the following certifying documents (originals and valid) at the point of sale:

Identity card, residence card or passport.
The single parent or large family card (family or individual card) issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya or the large family card issued by any other autonomous community.

At the time of sale, the customer service centre will note down, on the transport card, the number of the identity card, residence card or passport of the holder and the number of the card for the single parent or large family.

Both when buying the transport card and when first stamping it, those benefitting from the discount must have a valid document proving their identity (the holder's identity card, residence card or passport) and the document certifying they are a member of a single parent or large family of a general or special category.

Even if you stop being a member of a single parent or large family of a general or special category, you can continue to use the FM/FN transport card provided the documentation is verified that certifies you were a member at the time of buying and first stamping the ticket.

With integrated tickets you can make up to three transfers during the same journey. You must stamp the ticket each time you transfer.

With timed tickets, the maximum time allowed to make a journey is 1 hours and 15 minutes for tickets covering 1 zone. This increases by 15 minutes for each additional zone.

T-70/90 FM/FN especial

Subsided T-usual for unemployed people

In order to facilitate mobility for unemployed people who are in the process of finding a job, a reduction in the price of the T-usual is established.

The price of the card is €9.95, regardless of the number of zones.

You must prove one of the following requirements:

Receive unemployment benefits of less than the minimum wage (MW) and make an application to the State Employment Service (Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal - SEPE).
You receive some form of aid totalling less than the MW or you do not receive any aid at all, yet you have been registered as a jobseeker for at least 12 months within the last 2 years, and you are actively looking for work under the guidance of the SOC. Please contact the Labour Office of the Catalan Employment Service (SOC).
Receive benefits from the social services of the local Council of a town integrated in the ATM zone of the Greater Barcelona Area that are less than the MW, not receive any benefits from the State and make an application to the Local Council.

Process for obtaining the certificate

Any person interested in purchasing a subsidised travel card must first apply for the certificate attesting that they meet one of the above requirements.

State Employment Service (SEPE)

Request the document certifying the period of validity and the monthly amount of the benefits being received on the application date by going to the State Employment Service website at sepe.es (‹‹Procedimientos y servicios›› > ‹‹Personas›› > ‹‹Obtenga un certificado sobre su prestación››). This document enables the purchase of a subsidised T-usual travel card for 1 zone.

City Councils

The document from the social services department enables the purchase of a subsidised T-usual travel card for 1 zone.

Any person wishing to purchase a subsidised T-usual travel card must go to an authorized point of sale and present the original certificate issued by the State Employment Service, Catalan Employment Service, or the local social services department together with a valid National Identity Card/Foreigner Identification Number.

The gross minimum wage for the year 2021 is €950 a month.
The certificate must be presented at the sales point in its original (no photocopies will be accepted) within a maximum term of 30 days of its issuance.
The user may use the same certificate for the purchase of up to 3 transport cards, providing such purchases are made within 105 days of the certificate issuance date. Therefore, within such term, the user may purchase the 2nd and 3rd transport cards with no need to present a new certificate.
A total of 27 days must elapse between the purchase of one subsidized T-usual travel card and another, even in the event of loss or theft.
